Short Uganda Safari
The 5-day trip takes you to Kidepo Valley National Park, Uganda’s most remote park, situated in the Karamoja region, in north-eastern Uganda. The park’s major attractions include; the Kidepo and Narus rivers, Mount Morungole, Kanangarok hot spring, the Narus and Kidepo valleys.
The IK farmers, Karamojong, and Dodoth pastoralists, are also part of the park’s attractions. And combine the similar experience with Murchison falls national, known for Murchison Falls, where the Victoria Nile River surges through a narrow gap over a massive drop. Park wildlife includes elephants and hippos, and there are chimpanzees in the Kaniyo Pabidi mahogany forest. The Lake Albert Delta is home to rare shoebill storks, the two parks major’s activities include: Game drives, birding excursions, hikes and nature walks, are some of the adventures to engage in while at the park.
Your wildlife safaris start with a pick up very early morning (6:00 am) at your Hotel or Residence in Kampala or Entebbe, ready to have a long drive to Kidepo Valley Park, the country national park, this national park is definitely a must visit for any traveler to Uganda. The drive takes you via Gulu, Kitgum and later in the evening check in at your lode for dinner and overnight.
Today, after your breakfast, take a morning game drive along Narus valley; be ready to encounter some of the wildlife during your adventure game drive like Buffaloes, Giraffes, Zebras, Elands, Oribs, elephants and if lucky lion and leopard . after lunch, proceed to the Hot springs via palm trees lined along Kidepo river, famous for Ostriches and Leopard, Tortoises and along the back, you can make a small walk to stretch your legs and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
After your early morning breakfast, have another scenery drive to Murchison falls national park Uganda’s largest park, while in Murchison Falls Park enjoy the beautiful Savannah vegetation of Acholi long land as we reach the park. This is where the Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and cascades down to become a placid river whose banks are thronged with hippos and crocodiles, waterbucks and buffaloes. The vegetation is characterised by savannah, riverine forest and woodland. Wildlife includes lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, hartebeests, oribis, Uganda kobs, chimpanzees, and many bird species.
Today, experience the morning game drive in these savannah national park and expect some of the animals like elephants, buffalos, giraffes, waterbucks, oribis, bushbucks, among other if lucky lions, spotted hyenas and leopards. In the afternoon, take a 3 hours boat cruise on Victoria Nile to the base of the Murchison Falls. Expect to encounter some of the animal like hippos, crocodiles, variety of water birds species.
After breakfast, have a drive to the top of the falls to have a close view at the Murchison falls, where the Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and cascades down to become a placid river, which is just 7 meters or 23 feet wide, and topples to 43 meters or 141 feet below with a thunderous roar forming a residual water stray that forms a beautiful rainbow; the view is very breathtaking! From here it then continues its westward into the stunning Lake Albert.
Afterward, proceed to Masindi or Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for lunch before Going for Rhino trekking and then drive back to Kampala city dropping you off at your Hotel or Airport if you have a flight on the same day.
Note: Kidepo Valley National Park can also be reached by taking a scheduled flight that leaves Entebbe every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with minimum of 4 pax
